FROM THE VAULT
Beginning in 1934, the Firemen’s Frolic was held annually at the Liedertafel Hall (built in 1914) in Sealy as a fundraiser for the Sealy Volunteer Fire Department. In 1944, the Liedertafel Hall and grounds were sold to the Fire Department. Over 5,000 people attended the event the following year. The venue was once known as “Fireman’s Hall”. Today, the hall is maintained by the City of Sealy and stands as a piece of local history.
